Bathroom & Basement Plumbing Remodel Service FAQs
On average, a moderate bathroom remodel can cost between $10,000 and $20,000, while upscale renovations may exceed $30,000. DIY projects or minor updates may come in below $5,000. To create an accurate budget, consider labor costs, materials, and any unforeseen expenses. Consulting with professionals and obtaining quotes for your specific project can help establish a more precise and realistic budget
The most expensive part of a bathroom remodel is often the labor and installation costs, particularly if the project involves extensive plumbing or electrical work, tiling, or custom cabinetry. High-end fixtures, materials, and finishes also contribute significantly to the overall cost. Structural changes, such as moving plumbing or walls, can escalate expenses. To manage costs, carefully plan the scope of the remodel, choose materials wisely, and obtain multiple quotes from contractors to ensure a competitive price for labor and installation.
Adding a bathroom in the basement without existing plumbing involves several key steps:
- Drainage Planning: Install a sewage ejector pump to handle waste if the basement is below the sewer line.
- Plumbing Rough-In: Excavate the floor to lay new drain lines and connect to the main sewer line.
- Water Supply: Extend water supply lines from existing plumbing to the basement.
- Ventilation: Ensure proper venting of the new fixtures to maintain drainage efficiency.
- Permits and Inspections: Obtain necessary permits and have the work inspected for code compliance.
To ensure proper drainage and prevent flooding in a remodeled basement:
- Install a Sump Pump: A sump pump collects and removes water from the basement, preventing water buildup.
- Add a Backwater Valve: This valve prevents sewage from backing up into the basement during heavy rain.
- Grade the Landscape: Ensure the ground around your home slopes away from the foundation to direct water away.
- Waterproof the Basement: Apply waterproof coatings to walls and floors and seal any cracks.
- Maintain Gutters and Downspouts: Keep them clean to direct water away from the foundation.
Planning Stage - Get Us Involved
When planning your remodel it is best to contact us ahead of time usually during the planning and budgeting phase and schedule a site visit. This visit is invaluable and will give us an opportunity to not only meet and greet you, but will also ensure that we fully understand the scope of your plumbing project, identify any problems that you may not be aware of and, most importantly, let us properly and accurately quote the project and plumbing services needed. The site visit will serve many important purposes.
Once the site visit is completed, we will compile all your project information and put together a plumbing proposal based on your specifications. We have multiple pricing options available for you to choose from. We will let you decide what is best for your project.
Turn-Key Plumbing Proposal
Our most preferred option is the “Turn-Key” plumbing proposal. This proposal stipulates a contract price based on My Georgia Plumber providing all materials and labor, including fixture materials. This option brings peace of mind, knowing we will take care of the ordering and delivery of all materials, and that all of the plumbing fixtures carry a full warranty, not just a workmanship warranty.
When deciding, it’s important to remember that even with our markup, in most cases, you will pay below retail for materials purchased through us, and they carry a full warranty!

Plumbing Pipe & Labor Quote
The second option is what we call a “Pipe & Labor” only plumbing proposal. This is used in the event you want to purchase your own plumbing fixtures but have us install them. This quote may include additional pipe and fittings needed to complete the job. Ordering and delivery of the fixtures will be the sole responsibility of the homeowner. The homeowner is responsible for providing any spec sheets that may be required for installation.
Trip charges are assessed whenever a call back occurs that is unrelated to our workmanship.
With our outstanding plumbing brand name vendors and suppliers, we believe having My Georgia Plumber supply your fixtures, provides the best value and, in most cases, the best possible price.
